A car clamped in Harare for parking without a disc. Reports say Harare City racks in about US$70 000.00 per week from offending drivers. In the background is a restaurant - Wimpy - offering take-aways and eat ins.
End of day in Zimbabwe - this Zimbabwe picture was taken around 5pm end of day. What caught my attention is the lorry in-between the two cars. It's cutting across town carrying precariously hanging boulders than can roll off at any jerk anytime. The truck has no license plates let alone rear brake lights and its back occupants seem not to be bothered. (never mind the date my camera was mistaken this was October 2009)
I took this Zimbabwe photo at Avondale shopping center in Zimbabwe. It shows the rate the city council penalized offending drivers at the height of inflation and use of Zimbabwe dollar. A terrible reflection of Zimbabwe currency and Zimbabwe economy.
I took this Zimbabwe picture at the newly opened Sakunda Energy gas station along Second Street now Sam Nujoma street in Harare's CBD. Petrol and Diesel fuels were both available at US$1.14 and US$1.00 per liter (0.264 gallons). In the background is a tanker delivering more fuel.

Re the photo of the lorry carrying boulders, note the tread (or lack of) on the left rear tyre!
